Are you planning a tropical cruise and are just not sure of what to pack to take with you? 

Well, I have compiled a quick guide on what clothes are appropriate for you to bring along. You will definitely need something that is light and breezy, especially is your cruise ship will be docking at popular beach destinations. For this kind of getaway, it is important to review some wardrobe basics!

Pack for Casual and Dress

Tunics are a fashion must for your wardrobe when you are on a cruise. All you have to do is toss the tunic over pants or shorts and voila you have a fabulously casual style going on! If you choose caftans and tunics that come in plain boring colors, embellish them a bit by using belts to enhance the overall outfit.

Don’t forget to pack a wide-brimmed hat, preferably something that is made from a woven material. The hat will help keep the rays of the sun from scorching your face while still allowing a little sunlight in to make you glow. Hats can be a great accessory to dress up an outfit, pick a floppy hat that has flowers, beads or a design that you like and let the hat be the highlight of your outfit!

Make sure that you pack a halter top or even a short halter-style dress, preferably in bright colors or with bold patterns. This particular outfit will look perfect while you are socializing out on the deck of the ship or simply enjoying a walk down the beach during a stop at a port along the way to your destination. However, in the dining area of most cruise ships, this outfit would not be appropriate as the style of dress is usually smart casual or formal.

Women will want to pack a variety of dresses for the cruise. Ideally, you should bring an evening gown for formal dinners on-board, cocktail dresses for more informal events and sundresses for casual dining. You will want to look your best for any black tie affair events during your cruise.

Bring Lots of Sport Clothing

Last but not least, remember to pack athletic gear and everyday clothes. There will be a wide variety of activities that are scheduled for the duration of the cruise and you will want to try out different things. You will be happy that you brought along these clothes if you decide you want to work out, participate in some sporting activities or take some classes. Jeans and a nice t-shirt is a perfect outfit that is comfortable for classes.

It is up to you on the choice of jewelry that you decide to bring on the cruise with you, but, keep in mind that if you are going to be wearing plain and simple clothing for the most part, you may want to dress up those plain outfits with some chunky bracelets, necklaces or earrings. A simple thing such as adding earrings can make a once-simple outfit fabulous!
